The two tours
| Tour | Price | Duration | Reviews |

| Quad Adventure Experience | €169 per group up to 2 | 2 to 3 hours | 310 |
The hidden-beaches route. The booking page names an ancient Roman road, the beach of Su Coldorinu, the old port of Chia and Cala Cipolla, where you see the Capo Spartivento lighthouse. It continues to a viewpoint toward Capo Teulada, the southernmost point of Sardinia, and then Capo Malfatano and Cala Crabittu. You can swim at each stop. The operator is Bitan Daily Tours, and the languages offered are English, Italian, Portuguese, French and Spanish.
The shorter mountain ride. Trails through mountains and forest, in a group of up to 14. The swim stop at the beach is included only in the 3-hour option and only from May to October. Water, helmet and a guide are included, as is third-party insurance, which the page says does not cover any costs relating to damage to the quad.
Check before you book
- Licence: you need a driving licence. The hidden-beaches page says photos or PDFs are not accepted.
- Credit card: the hidden-beaches page makes a credit card mandatory.
- Insurance: both pages describe third-party insurance only. The hidden-beaches page says damage to the quad is paid by the guest and gives €9,000 as the worst case, and it recommends separate hire insurance. Read this before you decide, particularly if you are not used to riding.
- Who cannot join: both exclude pregnant women and people with mobility impairments. According to its booking page, the hidden-beaches tour also excludes children under 8. The shorter tour lists people with back or heart problems as not suitable.
- If you cannot ride safely: the hidden-beaches page says the guide cancels the tour and offers a partial refund.
- Dress: long trousers and closed shoes, plus swimwear and a towel for the stops.
- Cancellation: free up to 24 hours before, and after that the hidden-beaches page says no changes are possible, including for health reasons.
Getting to the start
Both tours are named for Domus de Maria, and the shorter tour’s meeting point is near the village. Neither booking page lists a pickup from Cagliari among its inclusions, so check with the operator before you book. By road, Domus de Maria is about 51 to 56 km from Cagliari via the SS195, roughly an hour in good conditions and longer on busy summer days, when that road is known for queues. A public connection could not be confirmed, so a car or a transfer is the realistic way. If you drive, you can compare rental cars for Cagliari and check the excess and the deposit on the booking page before you pay.
Is a quad right for you?
Expect noise, dust and rough tracks; the beaches are the reward. If you only want sea and sand, a beach tour is gentler: see Chia and Tuerredda from Cagliari, a gentler way to see that coast. For other off-road offers, the page for quad, jeep and bike tours in Cagliari has 31 offers from €25.
